Half Baked is, in short, peanut butter cookies in smoke form. Analyzing the flavor more carefully suggests that it’s likely a combination of peanutbutter and vanilla, with some additional sweetness added to it. The flavor is strikingly realistic and downright enjoyable. A keen sense of taste will also reveal the subtle undertones of the natural tobacco flavor.

Al Tawareg Orange Cream is a very mild, citrus-vanilla flavor with another element that gives it a subtle creamy sensation. It also bears a very similar sensation to cream soda. As the session goes on, smokers will likely find that there is a subtle tobacco taste as well. The flavor is very much as the name suggests, but more mild than one might expect.

Blue Rain is a candy-sour grape, with a mild mint element to it and that is very much what it tastes like. It’s positioned to be a competitor for Starbuzz’ Blue Mist, though the taste is really not at all similar. Within the hookah world, the flavor is much closer to Al Fakher’s Golden Grape, though a bit more refined.

Rose is just as the name implies. Rose. However, JM’s take on the flavor is refreshing. Rather than tasting like you’re smoking a bowl of potpourri, it has a sweet edge to it that makes an otherwise extreme floral flavor much more accessible. The flavor of rose is, however, difficult to describe. The simplest, and most likely clearest explanation is that it tastes very much the way a real rose smells.

Red Toro is JM’s attempt at an energy drink flavor—ala Red ‘Bull’. And it is indeed very similar, and quite delicious. There is a strong floral undertone, most likely rose. But atop that is something semi-sweet and fruity—possibly apricot, peach or raspberry. Or, perhaps a blend of all of them. Overall, the flavors do jive well together, provided the heat is managed properly.

Melon Medley, as the name would suggest, is a hodgepodge of other melon flavors. Most likely Honey Dew, Cantaloupe and Watermelon. However, the flavors are indistinct and the overall taste is ambiguous. If you’re a frequent hookah smoker, the flavor will be similar to Nakhla and Al Fakher’s Sweet Melon, only slightly more mild. In real world comparisons, the flavor is very much like a candy-cantaloupe.

Tonic Exotic Watermelon is not unique. It tastes very, very much like the other watermelon flavors on the market. In terms of real world comparisons, it’s about as close to watermelon flavored Bubbleyum as you can get outside of actually buying the gum. It does not taste bad per se, but it begs the question of who would want to taste bubbleyum for an hour and a half. The taste is somewhat like the real thing, but an extremely sweet (almost sickly so) caricature of the real thing.

Fuzzy Navel, which outside of the hookah world, is a mixed drink made from peach schnapps and orange juice. Having never actually had one of these drinks in real life, it’s difficult to say just how accurate the tobacco is to the real thing. But dissecting the flavor for what it is, there is a very strong, sweet and tangy orange flavor. In fact, the overall taste is very similar to the orange drink Tang. But, inspecting closely, you can also pick up subtle notes of peach. Regardless of whether it tastes like the beverage or not, the flavor is mouthwatering and delicious.
