The Set-Up

Social Smoke Coconut was smoked several times from various hookahs and bowls. Most recently it was smoked from a 32” Khalil Mamoon hookah with a Vortex bowl.

The Experience

Coconut is wet, but not dripping. It will leave your fingers sufficiently slimy. There are some small stems mixed among the tobacco, but none seemed to cause problems during packing. As is typical with Social Smoke tobacco, the flavor began almost instantly, and the smoke followed within three or four pulls. Will become dense and billowing, though Coconut seems to be a more sensitive flavor, as the smoke becomes harsh easily and quickly.

The Flavour

Social Smoke Coconut is the closest to an actual coconut flavor that I have found. It is mild and sweet, but neither is overpowering. At the end of the day, Coconut is more of a candy-flavor—similar to what you might find in an Almond Joy bar.

The Insight

While I very much enjoy the Coconut flavor from Social Smoke, this particular tobacco demands that you pick your passion. Do you love clouds, or do you love flavor? Because this time you’re probably not going to get both. From the get-go the coconut taste is obvious and pleasant. But, when you hit the sweet spot where the smoke is smooth and the clouds are huge, the flavor changes fairly dramatically. The coconut taste is present but hidden beneath some other flavors which are a bit difficult to call out specifically. Though the taste changes, the new taste isn’t bad, but it isn’t so much coconut either.

Who Should Try This Flavor

Lovers of coconut and who aren’t in it for the dense smoke. Because the flavor is very mild, it’s unlikely that it will turn too many people off. However, since the taste changes as the smoke increases, some may simply find it frustrating.
