Cut & Composition

Al Tawareg is a fine cut tobacco which, thanks to a honey composition, is extremely sticky. You’ll want to break it apart in a kitchen bowl before packing it into your hookah bowl.

The Experience

Wild Watermelon took about ten minutes to begin smoking. The richest smoke and flavor didn’t arrive until after about fifteen minutes. This is likely due to the resilience of this flavor. It did not respond adversely to too much heat and actually required more heat than usual to produce adequate smoke and flavor. The session ended after about an hour and ten minutes.

The Flavor

Al Tawareg Wild Watermelon is underwhelming at best. The Watermelon flavor is extremely mild. So much so, in fact, that you can clearly taste the honey and tobacco, though the experience isn’t unpleasant. The detectable watermelon flavor is, however, very nice. It is more realistic than most and doesn’t taste much like ‘bubble-yum’, the way most other brands do.

The Insight

Al Tawareg’s Wild Watermelon isn’t a failure, but it isn’t great either. Perhaps the term ‘Wild’ is misplaced. Nothing about the experience was rich or especially impressive, but still not at all unpleasant.

Who Should Try This Flavor

Fans of traditional fruit and melon flavors are most likely going to find themselves disappointed with Wild Watermelon. However, those who enjoy them flavors but find them too strong will be right at home with Al Tawareg’s take on Watermelon.
