Cut & Composition

Tonic Mojito is a medium cut, extremely juicy tobacco with a fair number of stems mixed in, though rarely are they disruptive to the packing process. The tobacco is dyed bright green and is nearly identical in appearance to cooked spinach. Beware, the color dye in Tonic’s Mojito flavor will stain clothing and light-colored porous surfaces.

The Experience

Mojito began smoking within the first 4 or 5 pulls. Flavor and smoke came at about the same time. The smoke was thick and the flavor rich within 5 minutes. The tobacco was comparatively temperamental to small changes in heat and easily became harsh when too much heat was applied. The session lasted a healthy hour and a half with no elements of the flavor diminishing during the smoking session. Nor did overheating the tobacco produce a difference in taste.

The Flavor

Mojito is, in fact, a simple sweet lemon-mint mixture. Naming it Mojito may not be the best name, but it does not negate that Tonic’s attempt at the alcoholic beverage by the same name is flavorful and enjoyable. Also unique is that the mint sensation is available not only on inhale, as it is with most flavors, but also on exhale. The taste is nearly identical to the smell, with a delicious citrus-tartness.

The Insight

Mojito, though it doesn’t taste much like an actual mojito, is really enjoyable. The mint is strong, but not so strong that it burns and the lemon is tart is balanced nicely with sweetness. Most avid smokers will be annoyed by the bright green color dye, and the fact that it stains clothing, but it’s not a deal breaker. It’s not the best version of the mojito flavor on the market, but the slightly smaller price tag helps make up for that.

Who Should Try This Flavor

If you love the citrus mint combination, this flavor won’t fail you. The mint is strong, however. If you’re not a huge mint fan, this might not be the flavor for you.
