Cut & Composition

Hookah-Hookah Watermelon is a long stringy cut. Something much like roll-your-own cigarette tobacco. There are no stems to be found. The tobacco is wet, but more oily than other brands. It will leave your fingers wet but not slimy.

The Experience

Watermelon delivered the richest of smoke and flavor in the first ten minutes. Though distinct flavor was available before the smoke reached its pinnacle. The tobacco produced no head-buzz at all. As with most tobacco products offered by Sahara Smoke, Hookah-Hookah Watermelon smoked the most predictably, and with the least amount of fuss from Sahara Smoke’s own Vortex Bowl. The session lasted about an hour and twenty-five minutes before the smoke and flavor faded.

The Flavor

Hookah-Hookah Watermelon tastes like watermelon. This, however, is important—where most brand’s watermelon flavors are a Bubbleyum caricature of the real melon, Hookah-Hookah’s watermelon is actually hyper-realistic. The flavor is sweet, but not candy sweet. The flavor is a mix of the sweet, bright pink parts of a real watermelon, as well as the more bitter, lighter colored parts found closer to the rind.

The Insight

I smoke a lot of hookah tobacco, and I’ve had the chance to try more than a dozen different brands of watermelon flavor, but this particular flavor literally had me saying, “wow”, several times. The realism is very impressive and the flavor itself won’t disappoint. But, while the smoking experience is great, it could be better. Hookah-Hookah’s tobacco is almost always significantly less resilient to heat than other brands and will require more of your attention to maintain the smoke and flavor at an enjoyable equilibrium.

Who Should Try This Flavor

Melon fans will most likely fall in love with this flavor, unless your affinity is for candy sweet smoke. People who have no special affinity for melon flavors, but really love the novelty of smoking some extremely realistic will also probably get a kick out of this one.
