Great Smoke from the Bottom of a Tub of Soft Black
I know it’s tempting to look into the bottom of an almost-empty tub of Al Fakher Soft Black and see all that juicy goodness and think, “this is going to be great!” But don’t be fooled! All that juice in there is actually going to create all kinds of problems.
Soft Black is a black shisha tobacco composed primarily of tobacco and black molasses. Molasses is a kind of sugar. Most shisha tobacco is made up of Tobacco, molasses or honey, and glycerin. Glycerin is the ingredient that helps protect the other ingredients from the heat, helping it smoke longer, as well as helping to produce huge clouds. Soft Black, however, doesn’t have any glycerin in it. In this case, without a good balance between tobacco and molasses, your tobacco will be temperamental and difficult to get smoking consistently. The solution—remove some of the molasses.
Here are the simple steps you can follow to ensure the last bits of Soft Black smoke great.
Dish Out & Drain Your Tobacco
Start by emptying about the right amount of tobacco onto three or four layers of paper towels. Next, fold the paper towel over the mound of tobacco and press down firmly with your hand. Now peel the paper towel back.
Enjoy!
When you peel the paper towel back, you’ll find a nice big brown stain on the paper towel and the tobacco will appear significantly more dry.
This is good!
Scoop the tobacco off of the paper towel and pack it into the bowl the way you normally would. Unless you would like play a mean (and gross) little prank on a house mate, toss the paper towel before it stains something else!
Do this each time you smoke tobacco from the bottom of the Soft Black tub, then go buy some more!
