Cut & Composition

Hookafina Cantaloupe is a medium cut and is very wet and sticky, but not dripping. Hardly any stems could be found and out of the ones that were found, they were very small and easily packable.

The Set-Up

Hookafina Cantaloupe was smoked out of both an egyptian clay bowl and a Tangiers Phunnel bowl using a Khalil Mamoon hookah.

The Experience

Once coals were added to a packed bowl, Hookafina Cantaloupe started producing smoke immediately. After about 2 – 3 pulls, large clouds were produced. The flavour came along with the clouds. Using 4 coalsplaced side by side, two at a time, the bowl lasted about an hour and thirty minutes using a windcover. The tobacco produced not buzz whatsoever.

The Flavour

Being compared to Nakhla’s Sweet Melon, the standard for the cantaloupe flavour among hookah smokers, this tobacco measures up very well. Unlike Nakhla’s Sweet Melon however, Hookafina Cantaloupe is more of a candy tasting cantaloupe, which is not all a bad thing. The sweetness is strong, but not overpowering so that it looses the cantaloupe flavouring. This flavour also mixes wonderfully with mint.

The Insight

Unlike other cantaloupe flavours on the market, this flavour is great because instead of going for an authentic tasting cantaloupe, Hookafina turned the sweetness up a notch and made it very new age instead of going traditional with the cantaloupe flavour. The smell of the tobacco matches the flavour perfectly.

Who Should Try This Flavour

Anyone who enjoys candy tasting shisha will really get a kick out of this tobacco. It is a different approach on the cantaloupe flavour and stands out among the crowd. Die hard cantaloupe fans will enjoy this, as well as anyone who has tried Al Fakher Sweet Melon because, as Hookafina is a washed tobacco, it will not produce a strong buzz.
